The Morikami Park Elementary School PTA Green Team Welcomes You!

Earth Day

Earth Day Celebration

Thank you for joining us last April 26th for our 3rd annual Earth Day celebration. In honor of the Wyland Mobile Learning Center visit last October, our theme this year was "Oceans, Rivers, Lakes, Estuaries and Wetlands – Make a Pledge to Protect Them!" All ages enjoyed this family event that included recycled arts and crafts, environmental science demonstrations, pledges to protect water, an interactive Project Wild field activity on the playground and rainbarrel painting. In addition our Recycling Club entertained the audience by sharing environmental tips to conserve and protect water resources. Our Aftercare Brushstrokes club shared personal experiences of learning about wetlands while participating in the Wyland Water is Life Mural. We also heard from a student who personally delivered shoes from our ReUse a Shoe program to less fortunate children in Argentina.

Thank you, Teri Pavlus, Aftercare Director for your contributions to the event!

Thank you also to all the incredible volunteers that made the event possible!
Thank you to our wonderful partners at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge for helping us with our Project Wild field Activity!
Thank you Holly Andreotta of Rainlife Rainbarrels for helping our students paint the rainbarrels!
