Future Restoration
Morikami Park Elementary School has partnered with FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center to complete the final stage of our restoration project. Together with Pine Jog, our Habitat Restoration Team will plan and implement the planting of three learning islands. An ADA accessible pathway and 30’x 30’ learning area will be constructed to allow all students access to hands-on environmental learning. Island habitats will include an Oak Hammock, a Bird and Butterfly Island and a Pine Flatwoods area including signage indicating habitat descriptions and the role of watersheds and wetlands to our local water supply.
