Green Innovation just comes natural at Morikami Park Elementary School. Take a look at some of the exciting activities during the 2010-11 school year:
- Wyland Mobile Learning Center – We were thrilled to host the interactive, traveling water exploratory that allowed students the opportunity of becoming "Clean Water Agents" and to learn more about how to protect Oceans, Rivers, Lakes, Estuaries and Wetlands. Read about the exhibit and learn how you can help to protect water at www.wylandfoundation.org.
- Wetland Mural at the Richard Louv Event – In honor of our Habitat Restoration Project, the Aftercare Brushstrokes Club created a 3-dimensional art mural. We are highly honored that our mural was featured as the backdrop at the Back to Nature event featuring guest speaker Richard Louv hosted by the Arthur Marshall Foundation at the West Palm Beach Ritz Carlton in March, 2011. Richard Louv is the author of the new book, "The Nature Principle" as well as the famous bestseller "Last Child in the Woods". The wetland mural was also on display at the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.
- Radio Disney Stars Inspire Students - We were thrilled to host appearances by Anna Margaret and Disney’s Next Big Thing Jasmine at our school in November, 2010. Their beautiful voices created a special memory and we greatly appreciate their appeal to students to be environmental stewards.
