The Morikami Park Elementary School PTA Green Team Welcomes You!

Pine Jog

Morikami Park Elementary is a proud partner of the FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center, one of the oldest nature centers in the nation.

The 135 acre site located in West Palm Beach is open to the public 9-4 Monday through Saturday. Over three miles of walking trails which include a boardwalk around the pond are available for public use. Visitors enjoy exploring four different habitats including a shady upland hammock, a pond and wetland, pine flatwoods and open fields. Staff members make everyone feel genuinely welcome.

A variety of field trip experiences give students hands-on environmental learning by exploring creatures and plants within all habitats. Field trips are interactive and designed to be a meaningful learning experience.

Many other programs are also available, including an incredible youth summer camp program and summer training workshops for teachers.

But Pine Jog is not just for students and teachers, it is also is a perfect place for families to spend outdoor time together! The walking trails are a peaceful place for nature walks and provide a perfect environment for reconnecting with nature and with each other. A beautiful tiki hut overlooks the wetland area and invites hikers to take a rest while listening to the bird calls. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it at the picnic tables nestled below the pine trees. You will love it!

Pine Jog’s new LEED certified green facility also offers an exiting menu of public programs that range from night hikes to a green book club. We encourage Morikami families to explore Pine Jog’s website for more information and plan a visit today!
